Day 3- Pre Seppos invasion ride- Off to Great ocean road

Left John's and traveled to Sorrento to catch a ferry to Queenscliff.  It was a bit overcast today.

Pics from the ferry

We passed Portsy (where I was told the more rich live) then into Queenscliff.  Once we left we rode into the Otway National Park, toward Erskine Falls in Lorne via the Great Ocean Road.  It reminds me a lot the Pacific Coast Highway in California.  Especially since the weather was overcast.

We started our downward walk to the bottom of Erkstine Falls.  I had my doubts after seeing the young folk huffing and puffing as they made their way to the top.  233 steps down was a breeze compared to making those very steps back up!  I just love the fern looking plants.  I was told they are called black boys. Just 'lovely'.

This pose is for Bucket.  The George Costanza pose.

Rode into Apollo Bay and ate at Cafe 155.  David had the fat boy.  Which really looked delicious.
Off to the lighthouse.  We went to visit the oldest standing lighthouse in Australia.  Along the way on Lighthouse road, we stopped to see some tourist looking up in the tree.  They had spotted some Koalas up in the tree.  In the wild.  Sparti told us that he had been in Australia for 30 years and never saw a Koala in the wild.  We were starting to feel lucky.

Taking up space at the cafe for our helmets

We arrived at the lighthouse, paid and started to walk toward the water.  Greeting us was this sign...
Love the 'be safe and enjoy' part

Ugg, more steps to the top!

After the lighthouse, we rode into Gellibrand and stayed at some cottages.  Very nice accommodations, with no wifi.  It was a 2 bedroom, so it was Dan, Becky, David and I.  We had a few more with us by then.  We also had Howard and Craig (AA), which were John's friends and Angelo, who was Anthony's friend. We had reserved 3 cottages altogether.

187 miles for today
